Why it matters
Why start from an industry template?
Because a pharmacy’s calls are nothing like a plumber’s, and a law firm’s are nothing like a restaurant’s. An industry template gives the agent the right questions, the details your team needs written down and the lines it must not cross, so it is useful from the first call rather than after weeks of adjustment.
The right questions
A date of birth and surgery for a prescription. A postcode and who can let the engineer in. The other party’s name for a new legal matter.
Firm limits
No medical, legal, tax or financial advice. No allergy reassurance. No prices or arrival times it hasn’t been given. No password resets.
Emergencies handled the same way every time
Callers are told to ring 999, NHS 111 or the National Gas Emergency number, 0800 111 999, wherever the template calls for it.

What is an industry template?
It is a ready-made starting point for an AI agent: a greeting, instructions for the calls that kind of business gets, a call limit, and whether the agent can book meetings. You pick one when you create the agent and change anything you like afterwards.
Can I change what an industry template does?
Yes. The greeting, the instructions, the call limit and booking can all be edited on the agent at any time, so the template is only ever where you begin.
Will an industry agent give medical, legal or financial advice?
No. The pharmacy and practice templates never give medical advice, and the solicitor and accountant template never gives legal, tax or financial advice. They put the caller through to a person or take a message instead.
Can I try an agent before callers hear it?
Yes. “Try it” lets you test the agent by typing, so you can check how it handles your typical calls before you put it on a live number.
How much does an AI receptionist cost?
